Role Overview

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend features in Odoo for multiple business lines under Kuberha (retail ERP, marketplace, logistics, finance, HR). You will work closely with product, UI/UX, and mobile/web teams to translate real business workflows into robust Odoo modules.

Key Responsibilities:-

Odoo Module Development

• Design and develop custom Odoo modules (Python) for Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, HRMS, QC, and Marketplace flows.
• Extend and customize existing Odoo models, views, wizards, and controllers as per business requirements.
• Implement scheduled jobs, cron tasks, and background workers for long-running processes.

Business Logic & Workflow Design

• Translate requirements like “supplier QC,” “logistics/reconciliation flow,” “billing + inventory sync,” etc. into clean Odoo models and workflows.
• Configure & customize Odoo objects: Models, ACLs, record rules, workflows, approval flows, and automated actions.
• Optimize database design and queries (PostgreSQL) for performance at scale.

Integrations & APIs

• Build and maintain integrations with external systems (e.g. Razorpay, Shiprocket/Delhivery, WhatsApp, Shopify/other marketplaces, AI services).
• Develop REST / JSON APIs for Flutter and React/Next.js frontends to consume Odoo data.
• Handle webhooks, callbacks, and secure authentication for external services.

Code Quality & Performance

• Write clean, modular, well-documented Python code following Odoo best practices.
• Debug complex issues across modules, logs, and database.
• Improve performance via profiling, indexing, caching, and refactoring where required.

Collaboration

• Work with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to align on data models and endpoints.
• Participate in technical discussions, estimations, and sprint planning.
• Maintain Git-based workflows (branches, pull requests, code reviews).

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of experience as an Odoo Developer (Backend-focused).

• Strong hands-on experience with:

o Odoo (v17/18 preferred) – ORM, models, views, controllers, security.

o Python and OOP fundamentals.

o PostgreSQL – writing and optimizing queries.

• Experience customizing core Odoo modules: Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, CRM, or HR.
• Experience building or consuming REST APIs.

• Solid understanding of:

o Access controls, record rules, groups, users, and multi-company setups.

o Odoo deployment basics (Odoo service, config, addons path, logs).

• Comfortable working with Linux environments, Git, and basic DevOps workflows.
• Ability to understand business flows quickly and propose clean technical solutions.

Good-to-Have (Bonus)

• Experience with Odoo 18 and migration/upgrade work.
• Knowledge of background task queues (Celery/RabbitMQ) or Odoo async patterns.
• Integrations with any of: Razorpay, Shiprocket, Delhivery, Shopify, WhatsApp APIs, Payment Gateways, Logistics APIs.
• Exposure to Docker/AWS (EC2, RDS, etc.).
• Basic understanding of AI/ML-driven features (e.g. using external AI APIs, embeddings, recommendation flows).
• Familiarity with frontends consuming Odoo (Flutter, React, Next.js).
