Job Description

Job Title:

Experience:

Location:

As a Full Stack Developer, you have a keen grasp of the full application lifecycle, from breaking down requirements to writing testable code for the front-end and the back-end, to documenting the details so it’s easy to make updates in the future. You are great at drawing the line between what happens on the front-end and what happens on the back-end to take advantage of the best aspects of each. You can juggle performance, ease-of-implementation and ease-of-change because you have visibility of and vision for the full-stack. As a Full Stack senior developer, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing integration solutions across our organization’s systems, ensuring efficient, scalable, and secure data flows. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, business analysts, and project managers, to deliver high-quality API solutions that support our enterprise-wide goals.

Key Responsibilities:

You can analyze a set of business requirements, break them down into technical features and tasks and visualize how the different aspects of the system will come together through data structures, APIs and persisted entities.

You are as comfortable crafting a UI and creating the necessary APIs and server-side functionality to drive it as you are analyzing a set of external APIs and figuring out what kind of API patterns it will best support.

Familiarity with API design principles and documentation (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger).

Implement and integrate APIs with various third-party services and databases.

API Design and Development: Design, develop, and deploy MuleSoft APIs and integrations, utilizing best practices in API-led connectivity and MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

Architecture and Strategy: Lead the architecture of complex integration solutions and contribute to the API strategy and roadmap.

Security and Compliance: Implement robust security practices in APIs, such as OAuth, JWT, and secure data handling, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

You know enough about all aspects of application development to make good decisions about architecture choices to allow team members who are more expert in each area apply their expertise efficiently.

Aware of good javascript patterns, libraries and UI Kits to get things going from a visual perspective.

Should be able to define entity relationships that will make the necessary lookups performant.

Design REST interfaces and GraphQL schemas that will securely expose the right levels of detail needed by each type of user of the system.

You understand techniques for accessibility, performance, unit and integration testing, internationalization, software design patterns, refactoring techniques, and branching strategies.

Solid understanding of the tools for creating modern web applications and cross-platform mobile applications.

Full expertise in Java with Spring Boot on the back-end and React for front-end.

A deep curiosity and openness to new technologies and techniques is the only thing we tend not to change up.

You love taking (sometimes ambiguous!) client requirements and translating them into best-practice patterns.

Documentation and Best Practices: Maintain thorough documentation of API designs, flows, and processes, and establish best practices in MuleSoft API development.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and recommend improvements for scalability and maintainability.

You can help less experienced developers find the right ways of doing things, and you are just as happy churning out deliverables yourself.

You have great communication skills, good attention to detail and a strong sense of high-quality product.

High-quality to you means:

well aligned to internal designs and to the client’s vision

a clean and reliable user experience

high levels of accessibility

consistency both within the current project and with industry best practices

highly testable and tested

reusable to enable increased efficiency in the future

maintainable both from a development perspective, and also from a client perspective.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in API development, with at least 3 years of experience specifically in JAVA Spring Boot development.

- Proficiency in RESTful API design and best practices, as well as SOAP-based services.

- Familiarity with API security frameworks, such as OAuth, JWT, SAML, and integration patterns.

- Strong knowledge of data transformation, using XML, JSON, and other data formats.

- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Git, and Maven.

- Solid understanding of messaging systems like JMS, MQ, and databases like SQL and NoSQL.

Preferred:

- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Java SE 21 Developer Certification

- Experience with other languages and API frameworks such as Java Spring or IBM API Connect.

- Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization like AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.

- Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.

- Experience in the financial industry is a plus.

Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and best practices.

- Accountability and diligence to stay focused and on track without in-person supervision.
