Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

1

Procurement & Vendor Management

Oversee sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.Build strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.Monitors the procurement operations including tendering processes and evaluation, contractor appraisal, evaluation and negotiation of offers, management of the contract and contractor, legal considerations and payment conditions, risk assessment.2

Strategic Planning & Execution

Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.Forecast demand and plan supply to ensure product availability while minimizing inventory costs.3

Inventory & Logistics Management

Optimize inventory levels across the supply chain to balance service levels and working capital.Ensure efficient warehouse operations, including storage, handling, and dispatch.Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.Collaborate with logistics partners and internal teams to improve delivery performance.4

Risk Management & Compliance

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, regulatory changes, and geopolitical isues.Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety standards.5

Process Improvement & Technology

Drive continuous improvement through lean practices, automation, and digital tools (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS).Implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor supply chain performance.6

People Development

Contribute to the Workforce Planning and Manpower Budgeting of the Maintenance function w.r.t. Skills / Competencies / Organization Structures / JDs / Nos as per the Business PlansContribute to the complete Talent Acquisition Process by participating in Selection and Onboarding of the TalentResponsible for engaging with the employees and motivate them to meet the Production Targets / Ensure training for the newly hired people and maintain skill matrix for all operatives, encourage and ensure multi-skilling of employees

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must:

B.E. (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial) or General procurement skills and experience with contractual terms and conditions as well as in negotiations of international contracts

Desirable:

Business (Supply chain, Logistics, Procurement)

Must:

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

Around 14 to 16 years of relevant work experience preferably in defense/ aerospace / aviation supply chain environmentAt least 5 years of leading Procurement/ Supply Chain Management functionDemonstrated experience dealing with suppliers, especially defense commodities (propellent, explosives etc).Excellent written and verbal English communications skillsSAP, Ariba, PO creation, SAP MM, Vendor development, Assessment, APN

Desirable:

Hands on experience with SAP – Ariba platformDefense industry exposure.Good experience with Logistics, freight forwarding will be an added advantageSub-contracting and vendor development
