Job Summary

Oversees preparation and analyses of quarterly and annual financial statements, preparation of SEC filings, coordination of external financial statement audit, research and application of GAAP accounting issues and SEC reporting issues, monitoring and compliance with requirements of debt instruments, and provides assistance with other special projects. Additionally, assists with new system implementations and conversions. Provides ongoing financial reporting support to senior management. Leads the accounting and reporting activities for debt, investments and transactions involving TriNet stock.

Essential Duties/Responsibilites

  • Supervise a team in the performance of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Lead a team of accountants in the performance of accounting for debt, investments and transactions involving TriNet stock, including stock compensation
  • Review and approve necessary journal entries and GL account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve quarterly and annual requests for information (RFIs).
  • Drive compliance around all accounting procedures and controls
  • Prepare monthly investment reporting package, partnering with department heads for variance analysis.
  • Review quarterly fair value marks on all investments for financial reporting as well as lead the financial reporting work for all disclosures related to debt, investments and stock transactions.
  • Review GL account and cost center mapping to the financial statements as necessary.
  • Review financial statement and footnote support workbooks for SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Prepares MTD, QTD, & YTD utilization reports for monthly financial reporting package
  • Assure that internal and external financial reporting is timely and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) guidelines and TriNet policies.
  • Reviews financial reporting and ensures data integrity to enable management decisions.
  • Assists with quarterly and annual financial reporting, including reviewing Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) documents, ensuring quality, and maintaining strict deadlines in addition to statutory reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience - required
  • General education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training
  • Chartered Accountant - required

Work Experience

  • Typically 10+ years - required
  • Typically 3+ years - managing a team within accounting and reporting - required
  • Experience working with colleagues in different time zones - required
  • Experience in a progressive accounting environment for a Fortune 1000 size company and/or medium or larger public accounting firm with high volume transactions and a disciplined close process - preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) ACCA / CPA preferred

  • Proficient in ERP/accounting-based systems including Oracle Fusion ERP and Workiva.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment across multiple time zones; to communicate articulately, confidently, and professionally across many organizational levels and functions; and effectively build rapport with stakeholders
  • Ability to drive for results and ensure accountability on deliverables, budgets, project plans, and follow-through on commitments to leadership.
