Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and experienced HR Manager to lead the Human Resources function for our Satellite News Channel. The ideal candidate will manage recruitment, employee relations, policy implementation, compliance, and talent development while supporting

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Talent Management

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment for all departments — editorial, technical, creative, and production.
  • Partner with department heads to forecast manpower needs and ensure timely hiring.
  • Develop talent acquisition strategies, manage job postings, and handle onboarding.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Build a positive work culture across newsroom and field teams.
  • Resolve employee grievances and ensure fair disciplinary procedures.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, retention plans, and internal communication.

3. Performance Management

  • Implement and monitor appraisal systems (KPI / KRA-based).
  • Support management in performance reviews and career development plans.

4. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee attendance, payroll, leaves, and HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, PF, ESI, gratuity, and statutory regulations.
  • Maintain accurate HR MIS reports and audit-ready documentation.

5. Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and conduct training and capacity-building programs.
  • Support continuous learning in line with newsroom and production needs.

6. Policy Implementation & Administration

  • Formulate and update HR policies, code of conduct, and workplace ethics.
  • Coordinate with Admin for infrastructure, safety, and employee welfare.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s / MBA in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
  • 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a media / broadcast / entertainment industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Sound understanding of labour laws, HR processes, and digital HR systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
