Role: Head of Merchandising

Location: Koramangala, Bengaluru, India (Work from Office)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Merchandising to lead the end -to-end product lifecycle from consumer insights, assortment planning, and inventory optimization to new product launches and category performance management. This senior leadership role will work closely with the CXO team, driving merchandising excellence across retail and digital AI platforms.

The role demands a leader with strong jewellery industry experience, commercial acumen, and the ability to shape strategy, influence stakeholders, and build a scalable merchandising function aligned with the brand’s rapid growth trajectory.

Key Accountabilities

Merchandising & Product Strategy

  • Own and define the merchandising strategy and roadmap for Client (Confidential)’s diamond jewellery collections.
  • Develop assortment mix across categories, geographies, price points, and customer segments.
  • Drive new product development in collaboration with design, marketing, and retail teams.
  • Conduct ongoing market research, competitor benchmarking, and consumer insights analysis.

Product Planning & Inventory Management

  • Lead assortment and replenishment planning across omni-channel retail.
  • Manage inventory health, turns, and optimization —including handling slow/obsolete stock.
  • Implement forecasting, demand planning, and allocation models.
  • Establish pricing and budgeting frameworks to balance competitiveness and profitability.

Leadership & Team Development

Build, mentor, and grow a high -performing merchandising & product planning team. Drive execution excellence through cross -functional collaboration. Enable data-driven decisions using ERP, product lifecycle management, and analytics dashboards.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

Track category sales, margins, customer feedback, and inventory performance. Identify improvement areas and recommend corrective strategies. Present detailed reports and insights to CXO -level stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 9–10 years of merchandising experience, with at least 50% in jewellery (diamond jewellery strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record in assortment strategy, lifecycle management, and inventor y optimization for large retail or omni-channel businesses.
  • Strong understanding of consumer trends, pricing strategies, and design -to-market cycles.
  • Experience with ERP/analytics tools; AI-driven planning exposure is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and vendor ecosystems.
  • MBA/PG in Retail, Fashion Management, or Business preferred.
