Job Description

Head of Accounts Position Overview: The Head of Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the entire finance and accounting function of the organization. The role involves managing financial operations, ensuring statutory compliance, preparing accurate financial reports, controlling costs, supporting audits, and leading the accounts team. The incumbent will play a key role in strategic decision-making by providing financial insights to the management. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor cash flows, working capital, and fund management. Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports for management review. Compliance & Audit Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC filings, etc.). Liaise with statutory, internal, and tax auditors for timely completion of audits. Ensure adherence to accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS as applicable). Cost Control & Analysis Implement internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets. Analyze costs, margins, and profitability to support business decisions. Drive cost optimization and efficiency in financial operations. Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor the accounts team to achieve accuracy and efficiency. Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely deliverables. Collaborate with other departments (procurement, HR, operations) for smooth financial coordination. Strategic Support Provide financial insights to support management in decision-making. Support fundraising, banking, and investor-related activities. Participate in ERP/accounting software implementation and automation initiatives. Qualifications & Experience CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) with strong accounting background. 8–15 years of experience in finance & accounts, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, or power sector. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and compliance. Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, etc.). Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Key Competencies: Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and practices. Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills. High integrity and commitment to ethical practices. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Team leadership and people management capabilities.
