Job Description

Role Summary:

The Head of Learning & Development will lead the design, execution, and evaluation of all training and development strategies across the organisation. This role is critical in aligning learning programs with business goals, enhancing employee performance, developing leadership pipelines, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Strategy & Design

    • Develop and implement a company-wide L&D strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
    • Identify skill gaps and develop learning interventions to address them across sales, optometry, retail operations, and support functions.

  • Program Development

    • Lead the design and deployment of functional, behavioural, leadership, and on-boarding training programs.
    • Create scalable and blended learning programs (in-person, virtual, and digital).
    • Oversee content development, internal faculty creation, and vendor partnerships.

  • Leadership Development

    • Design and implement leadership development programs for front line, mid-level, and senior management.
    • Partner with business heads to create career paths and succession plans.

  • Learning Operations

    • Set up and manage learning calendars, learning platforms (LMS), and reporting mechanisms.
    • Monitor training effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative feedback and business impact metrics.

  • Team & Stakeholder Management

    • Lead and mentor the L&D team across regions.
    • Work closely with HRBPs, Zonal Managers, and Department Heads to ensure training relevance and alignment.

    • Key Requirements:


  • Proven experience in leading L&D for a multi-location retail outlets.
  • Strong instructional design knowledge and experience in blended learning.
  • Hands-on experience in LMS

    (Kredo)

    and digital learning adoption.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into actionable learning programs.
  • Passionate about people development and organisational growth.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline (Masters degree in HR or related field preferred)
  • Certifications in instructional design, behavioural training, or coaching (optional but desirable)
