Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:• Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA, or MBA (Finance).Experience:• 8–15 years in finance and accounting, with minimum 5 years in projectfinance or plant setup (manufacturing/infrastructure/agro-industry).• Prior experience in sugar, ethanol, or food processing industry preferred.

Stage: Pre-Operational Phase (Land Development → Construction →Commissioning)

1. Position OverviewThe Financial Controller will be responsible for establishing and managing thefinancial systems, processes, and controls of the company during its pre operational and project development stages.

This includes overseeing projectfinancing, budgeting, accounting setup, statutory compliance, and preparingthe organization for future manufacturing operations.The ideal candidate should possess strong project finance experience,strategic financial planning skills, and the ability to work closely with technical,procurement, and legal teams to ensure the financial health of the project.2. Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesA. Financial Planning & Budget Management• Develop comprehensive project financial models, including CAPEX,OPEX, and ROI projections.• Prepare and manage annual and phase-wise budgets for landdevelopment, civil works, plant erection, and infrastructure.• Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenditure and ensure cost disciplineacross all departments.• Present financial updates to management and board on budgetutilization and funding status.B. Project Financing & Fund Management• Support management in arranging project financing, including liaisingwith banks, investors, and financial institutions.• Oversee loan documentation, disbursement schedules, and covenantcompliance.• Monitor cash flow, fund utilization, and working capital to ensure liquidityfor project milestones.• Prepare reports for lenders and project sponsors.C. Accounting System Development• Establish a robust chart of accounts and financial control framework.• Implement ERP/accounting software suited for project andmanufacturing operations.• Ensure accurate capitalization of pre-operative and fixed assets.• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all projectexpenditures.D. Procurement & Contract Financial Oversight• Review and validate financial terms in vendor and contractoragreements.• Monitor vendor payments, advances, and retention money againstprogress certifications.• Provide cost analysis and financial input in tender evaluations.E. Statutory Compliance & Governance• Ensure compliance with tax laws, company law, and project-relatedregulatory filings.• Liaise with auditors, consultants, and legal advisors for statutoryclearances.F. Risk Management & Internal Controls• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, including costoverruns and project delays.• Implement strong internal control systems and authorization protocols.• Conduct periodic internal reviews and support external audits.G. Reporting & Stakeholder Management• Prepare monthly MIS reports, lender updates, and financial progresssummaries.• Present cash flow statements, variance reports, and project statusreports to management.• Support external stakeholders with financial due diligence and datarequests.H. Team Leadership & Readiness for Operations• Recruit and train finance and accounts staff for the operational phase.• Develop SOPs for accounting, inventory, and cost control to transitionsmoothly to manufacturing.• Coordinate with operations, HR, and procurement teams to alignfinancial systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹180,000.00 per month
