Head - ESG (Associate General Manager - Copper)

Purpose/Objective

Head ESG (Associate General Manager) will spearhead the development and implementation of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy for the Copper Business Unit. This role is pivotal in aligning the unit’s operations with Adani Group’s broader sustainability goals and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The role will focus on embedding ESG principles into the business processes, driving materiality assessments, and ensuring transparent ESG reporting to support the Copper Business Unit’s mission of reducing import dependency and empowering India’s manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Develop and implement a comprehensive ESG strategy tailored to the Copper Business Unit’s operational and strategic goals. - Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards, including conducting environmental impact assessments and audits. - Lead the integration of ESG principles into the Copper Business Unit’s projects and operations, ensuring alignment with Adani Group’s sustainability framework. - Establish and manage ESG data management and reporting systems to ensure accurate, transparent, and timely reporting. - Conduct ESG risk assessments and materiality analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks to the business. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of environmental and social responsibility. - Monitor and report on the Copper Business Unit’s ESG performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. - Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry groups, and community organizations, to promote the Copper Business Unit’s ESG agenda. - Stay updated on global ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the Copper Business Unit remains at the forefront of sustainability. - Support the Copper Business Unit’s strategic initiatives by aligning ESG goals with the broader mission of reducing import dependency and enhancing self-reliance.

Technical Competencies

Expertise in ESG Principles and Frameworks,Proficiency in ESG Data Management and Reporting Systems,Strong Knowledge of Environmental Regulations and Impact Assessment Methodologies,ESG Risk Management and Materiality Analysis

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications & Experience - Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. - 15–20 years of experience in ESG strategy development and implementation, preferably within the metals or manufacturing sector. - Extensive experience in regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting. - Demonstrated experience in environmental regulations, impact assessment methodologies, and ESG risk management. - Strong background in ESG data management and reporting systems, with a track record of successful implementation.
