Position Summary : The Head Barista oversees day-to-day café operations, ensuring smooth service, accurate billing, excellent customer experience, and proper management of staff, inventory, and sales records in a gourmet café environment. Key Roles & Responsibilities 1)Staff Supervision & Coordination Lead and support the service team during daily operations. Allocate tasks to team members and ensure smooth workflow. Train new staff on service standards, counter operations, and hygiene procedures. Maintain staff discipline, attendance, grooming, and professional conduct. Monitor staff performance and provide guidance when needed. 2. Counter Handling & Billing Manage the main service counter efficiently and professionally. Operate the POS system and ensure accurate billing and order punching. Handle refunds, exchanges, bill corrections, and payment issues as required. Ensure proper cash handling, card settlements, and daily cash tally. Maintain a clean, organized, customer-friendly counter setup. 3. Customer Service & Guest Experience Greet guests and ensure warm, attentive, and high-quality service. Assist customers with menu guidance, food information, and recommendations. Handle customer complaints, requests, or feedback with professionalism. Ensure quick and smooth service during busy hours. 4. Inventory Monitoring & Stock Management Track and monitor inventory for food items, beverages, raw materials, disposables, and packaging. Conduct daily stock checks and maintain accurate usage records. Place orders with suppliers and coordinate timely deliveries. Ensure correct storage, labeling, and FIFO practices. Reduce wastage through proper tracking and operational control. 5. Administrative Tasks & Excel Reporting Maintain daily sales reports, stock logs, wastage sheets, and attendance records using Excel or Google Sheets. Prepare shift summaries and operational updates for management. Maintain vendor and purchase records. Help track food costs, consumption patterns, and other operational metrics. 6. Sales Tracking & Performance Monitoring Monitor daily café sales across categories like continental dishes, beverages, and desserts. Track customer preferences and sales patterns. Support the achievement of daily and monthly sales targets. Suggest improvements based on sales data and guest feedback. 7. Café Operations & Hygiene Standards Ensure the café floor, tables, counters, and display areas remain clean and presentable. Coordinate between kitchen and service teams for smooth order flow. Follow opening and closing procedures as per café standards. Maintain hygiene, safety, and quality standards across the café. Qualifications & Skills 2–4 years experience in café/restaurant operations or supervisory roles. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proficiency with POS systems and accurate cash handling. Good knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets for reports and logs. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Understanding of inventory systems and basic food service operations.
