Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Engineer to join our smart metering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronic hardware for smart electricity meters, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting production and field deployment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and development of hardware architecture for smart meters (single-phase and three-phase).
• Selection of microcontrollers, analog/digital components, and communication modules (RF, NB-IoT, 4G, PLC, etc.).
• Schematic capture and PCB layout design using tools like Altium, OrCAD, or Eagle.
• Perform signal integrity analysis, power optimization, and EMI/EMC compliance testing.
• Work with firmware and software teams for system integration and bring-up.
• Perform hardware validation, functional testing, and debugging using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with IS16444, IEC standards, and relevant metering regulations.
• Support field trials, issue debugging, and provide technical documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, EMS partners, and certification bodies during the product lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in hardware design, preferably in energy metering.
• Strong understanding of analog/digital circuits, power supplies, and microcontroller interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART).
• Experience with metrology ICs (e.g., Analog Devices, TI, Cirrus Logic, etc.).
• Familiarity with smart metering protocols (DLMS/COSEM, MODBUS) and communication technologies.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC, safety compliance, and environmental testing standards.
• Proficient in PCB design and simulation tools.

Preferred Skills (Bonus):
• Experience with IS13779, IS16444, and IEC62053 series standards.
• Exposure to secure element integration and tamper detection hardware.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM/DFT.
• Prior experience in utility or energy sector projects.
