Job Description

Job Purpose Plan, organize, and ensure reliable and safe operation of EHV(>132KV) systems. Support to engineering team for conceptual design, commissioning, and testing of EHV system for new projects. Job Accountabilities To provide technical support to Petrochemical, Polymer, Polyester & Refinery sites related to EHV System Reliability: Oversee Performance monitoring & benchmarking. Initiate Selection & Standardization of best practices, Standardization of SOPs and SMPs Ensure implementation of GMS standards, guidelines, LFI and safety group standards at sites. Lead troubleshooting & support to sites for major & critical failures/issues. Generate LFI, Alerts based on major failures, safety incidences. Carry out RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) for equipment and EHV system-related failures, monitor implementation of RCA recommendations. Introduction of modern diagnostic techniques and tools to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of the testing and validation process. Support to Electrical Equipment Performance Management (EEPM) platform for EHV system. Prepare guidelines and govern the sites asset renewal plan & obsolescence management Support the Procurement and Contracts team for the development and validation of new vendors/products / Services. Support for ARCs/AMCs Participate in the commissioning of major equipment, de-bottlenecking & modification during the project stage. Review and Validate Capex /MOC-T proposals raised by Sites. Support to the site for successful execution of Capex / MOC-T / Major Turn Arounds. Carry out statistical analysis for reliability improvement. Carry out quality assurance, maintenance, and safety audits as required. Carry out FAT & SAT of equipment as required. Provide technical support to conduct and validate various Power System Studies (LF/SC/Transient/Protection Coordination) and EMTP studies. Conduct regular inter-site meets for knowledge sharing and common practices across the group. Support to L&D department for CAS, to develop training modules, finalize curriculums for external training programs, conduct and organize training and knowledge awareness sessions Support to DEC for Engineering of EHV (>132KV) electrical equipment such as GIS, AIS, Cables, CT, PT, CVT, LA and Breakers etc. Support to DEC for Engineering of PLCC or FOTE communication and RTU systems with utility as per industry benchmark / international standards. Load forecasting, load management, generation scheduling, and load shedding. Ensuring continuous improvement in design and modification through active interaction with stakeholders and optimizing engineering practices. Setting standard guidelines and training to the concerned workforce for the maintenance and operation of EHV systems. Overseeing Statutory and Regulatory compliance at the engineering and operation stage. Liaise with OEMs / packagers/consultants to be abreast of the latest trends in technology, design, etc. Support for procurement/services scope finalization, vendor selection, and validation for critical equipment. Skills Required (Knowledge And Skills) Basic knowledge in detailed engineering of EHV systems. Knowledge of practices, codes, and regulatory standards associated with various EHV systems and equipment and its safe operation. Functional expertise in developing/reviewing robust design basis, and guidelines for systems. Experience with the operation and maintenance of EHV equipment. Knowledge of EHV equipment protection settings and guidelines. Ability to review and optimize Layout, Electrical SLD, BOQ, etc. Knowledge of the latest technological trends in the EHV sector. Knowledge of tariff metering and energy accounting. Knowledge of software tools for simulation, modeling, and configuration of systems Knowledge of system sizing calculations, and integration techniques. Knowledge of industrial testing procedures. Knowledge of Reliability calculations and KPIs. Knowledge of the SAP system Key Attributes (Experience And Qualifications) Candidate should have BE / B Tech / M Tech in Electrical Engineering with specialization in EHV/HV systems with at least 15 years of experience covering basic engineering/ installation/ commissioning/ maintenance of EHV equipment / RTU/ SCADA/ EDMS.
