General manager - SCM Finance

ABOUT THE ROLE The General Manager SCM Finance will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and decision support for the Supply Chain function. This role requires a highly analytical finance professional with hands-on experience in manufacturing, logistics, and 3PL environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance supply chain efficiency. This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced, tech-first organization where finance is a key business partner.


Key Responsibilities:

● Business Partnering: Collaborate with SCM, logistics & procurement teams to evaluate and structure cost-effective initiatives and vendor negotiations.

● Financial Planning & KPIs: Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across logistics, inventory & fulfilment. Track key metrics like cost/shipment, delivery accuracy, and warehouse costs.

● Cost Modelling & Optimization: Drive end-to-end cost analysis, 3PL evaluations, and warehouse strategy through robust financial models.

● Inventory & Working Capital: Monitor inventory health, improve turnover ratios, and reduce stock-outs and write-offs.

● Business Case Development: Evaluate ROI on investments (e.g., automation, platforms), and identify cost-saving opportunities through data analytics.

● Reporting & Systems: Deliver timely dashboards and insights. Partner with tech teams to enhance ERP and analytics tools using AI-driven reporting.


EXPERIENCE

● 4–5+ years in SCM finance or business finance roles involving supply chain oversight.

● Experience in cost reduction initiatives with measurable savings.

● Should have directly influenced procurement and operational finance decisions.

● Ability to analyze and improve supply chain efficiencies through financial levers.


Educational Background:

MBA in Finance(Tier 1 Bschools), Chartered Accountant (CA First Attempt)


COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Functional

● Advanced Excel and financial modelling for supply chain and procurement.

● Experience with working capital management and operational KPIs.

● Ability to apply AI tools for faster and accurate reporting.

● Proficiency in building cost models and scenario analysis for sourcing and logistics.
