Job Title: Fleet Manager / Coordinator
Department: Logistics & Operations
Location: Panangahd, Ernakulam
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer / Operations Manager

Aeden Fruits International Pvt. Ltd. is a premier importer and distributor of high-quality fresh produce. Our logistics and supply chain are the backbone of our business, ensuring that perishable goods are delivered with speed, efficiency, and in perfect condition. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet Manager to oversee our entire vehicle fleet from our head office in Panangad.

Job Summary:
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the complete management and operational efficiency of the company's fleet of vehicles, including refrigerated trucks and delivery vans. This critical role ensures that our distribution network runs smoothly, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logistics, vehicle maintenance, and team management, with a sharp focus on optimizing performance and minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fleet Operations & Logistics:

  • Manage the daily scheduling, dispatch, and routing of all vehicles to ensure on-time delivery to clients and retail stores.
  • Optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize transit times.
  • Utilize GPS tracking and fleet management software to monitor vehicle locations, driver performance, and delivery status in real-time.
  • Coordinate with the sales and warehouse teams to align vehicle availability with dispatch schedules.
  • Handle and resolve any in-transit issues, breakdowns, or delays to minimize disruption to the supply chain.

2. Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all vehicles to ensure maximum reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate all vehicle repairs, servicing, and inspections with authorized workshops and service centers.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all vehicle documentation, including registration, insurance, fitness certificates, and pollution permits, ensuring they are always current.
  • Ensure all vehicles, especially refrigerated units, comply with all transport and food safety regulations.

3. Driver Management & Training:

  • Oversee the performance and conduct of all company drivers.
  • Assist HR in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new drivers.
  • Conduct regular briefings on safety protocols, efficient driving practices, and proper handling of perishable goods.
  • Monitor driver behavior (e.g., speeding, harsh braking) using telematics data and provide coaching and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Manage driver schedules, leave, and ensure adherence to duty-hour regulations.

4. Financial & Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, with a strong focus on controlling costs related to fuel, maintenance, tires, and tolls.
  • Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for cost reduction and operational improvement.
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure favorable rates for fuel, spare parts, and maintenance services.
  • Maintain detailed records and generate regular reports on fleet expenses, mileage, fuel efficiency, and overall cost-per-kilometer.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in fleet management or transport coordination, preferably within the logistics, FMCG, or perishable goods industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transport regulations, and logistics planning.
  • Strong technical proficiency with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills in Malayalam and English.

Compensation:

  • Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Additional Benefits: As per company policy.
