Role Purpose
The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, governance, and control across the organization’s real estate operations. The role oversees financial reporting, project accounting, budgeting, cost controls, compliance, and audit, while partnering with business and project teams to support informed decision-making and financial discipline.
The role acts as a bridge between finance and project execution, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and control across multiple projects and entities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Control
- Oversee preparation and review of Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS & management reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies & internal controls
- Maintain robust financial controls across all entities and projects in Real estate
2. Project Accounting & Cost Control
- Monitor and control project-wise budgets, costs, and cash flows.
- Track Construction and development costs and Variations, change orders, and cost overruns
- Partner with Project, Construction, and Procurement teams to ensure financial discipline.
- Analyse cost trends and highlight deviations to management.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Prepare and monitor Project-level and consolidated cash flow forecasts and Funding requirements and drawdown schedules
- Ensure optimal working capital management across projects.
4. Stakeholder & Leadership Support
- Support CFO and senior management with Financial analysis, Scenario planning and Investment and feasibility evaluations
- Prepare board and leadership-level financial presentations.
- Act as a finance partner to business and project heads.
5. Systems, Processes & Team Leadership
- Oversee finance systems, ERP, and reporting tools.
- Drive process improvements and automation within finance operations.
- Build, mentor, and manage the finance and accounts team.
- Ensure standardization of processes across entities and projects.
Experience & Qualification
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 12–15 years of experience in finance roles within Real estate, Construction or Infrastructure sectors. Minimum 5yrs of sector experience in recent role/s is mandatory.
- Experience handling multiple projects and entities preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of Real estate accounting, Project costing and Taxation (Good to have, not mandatory)
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
