Job Description

Job Title: Finance Controller


Finance Controller

detail-oriented finance professional


Key Responsibilities:


Product Costing & Analysis:

  • Determine the exact cost structure of each product, covering all cost types, raw materials, packaging, labor, logistics, overheads, and marketing allocations.
  • Identify cost variances and prepare periodic reports highlighting where costs have increased or decreased.
  • Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to analyse and optimise cost drivers.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive

    Costing Master Database

    for all SKUs.


Financial Planning & Control:

  • Establish and maintain financial controls to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
  • Develop product-level P&L reports and gross margin analyses.
  • Support management in setting product pricing strategies aligned with profitability goals.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide operational decisions.


Accounting & Compliance:

  • Oversee accounting operations, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, etc.).
  • Coordinate with auditors and consultants for timely closures and filings.


Strategic Finance Support:

  • Assist leadership in cost control initiatives and financial efficiency programs.
  • Evaluate the financial viability of new products and product reformulations.
  • Support investor discussions, audits, and due diligence processes as required.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification (mandatory).
  • 3–6 years of experience in

    cost accounting, management accounting, or financial control

    , preferably in

    FMCG, D2C, or manufacturing startups

    .
  • Proven expertise in

    product costing, variance analysis, and cost optimisation

    .
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, compliance, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with Tally, Excel, and costing tools; experience with ERP or MIS systems preferred.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
