This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical professional who can break down every component of product costing from raw materials to packaging and logistics and help identify opportunities for cost efficiency without compromising quality. You’ll be a key member of the finance team, working closely with production, procurement, and operations to ensure every rupee spent translates into measurable value. Key Responsibilities Product Costing: Prepare detailed product cost sheets covering raw materials, packaging, labor, overheads, and logistics. Maintain accurate costing data for all SKUs and update based on supplier or process changes. Evaluate BOM (Bill of Materials) and production cost flows to identify inefficiencies. Support the finance controller in pricing analysis and margin improvement. Cost Analysis & Control: Track and analyse cost variances month-on-month and provide insights on cost fluctuations. Identify areas of potential cost savings across sourcing, manufacturing, and operations. Develop and implement standard cost systems for consistent reporting and monitoring. Prepare cost comparison and variance analysis reports for management review. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, purchase, and supply chain teams to validate costing assumptions. Participate in vendor cost evaluations and assist in negotiations through data-driven insights. Support audits, budget preparation, and internal control reviews related to cost management. Qualifications & Skills Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification is mandatory. 2–4 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, or management accounting , preferably within D2C, FMCG, or E-commerce sectors. Strong understanding of cost structures, variance analysis, and cost control methodologies. Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and costing systems; exposure to ERP or MIS tools is a plus. Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
