Field Application Engineer

Job Summary:

Manage the technical and reliability standards pertaining to the design materials and techniques or technical design function for electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry of products on the customer side. Manage the application engineering for Audio, LED Drivers, Power Management ICs, MCUs, Sensors, and Communications products. Reference designs for various chipset companies.

Essential Functions:

Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

· Promote company product lines. Identify new business opportunities and work with sales to develop it;

· Work with customers to help use our products and resolve their design issues.

· Following sales team sample tracking & new product design-in tracking using CRM tools;

· Accomplish design-in, design-win, application identification and new product introduction;

· Develop reference designs with customers and provide support to resolve customers' technical issues;

· Provide technical training and product presentation to customers, reps, and distributors for company products;

· Work with R&D and Product Marketing to define new products;

· Additional duties as requested

· Technical support to the customers, including product promotion; design debug with customer; as well as quality issue support.

· Provides technical feedback to engineering concerning product changes/enhancements.

· Utilizing many development boards and customer boards to validate our products.

· Conduct Monthly design review opportunity with distribution partners.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative, but not limited to the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Knowledge of any of the following Analog Design, Power circuits, MCUs, Communications devices.

· Strong failure analysis at the board level.

· Knowledge of application and test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer etc.)

· Strong customer presentation and communication skills

· Self motivator with strong drive to achieve business objectives

· Proficient in analysis, simulation and design using engineering tools

· Strong verbal and written communications skills.

· Strong problem solving and staff/project management skills.

· Ability to exercise independent judgment.

· Demonstrated ability to interface, coordinate and work effectively work with all levels and other departments.

Minimum Job Requirements

· Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.

· At least three years working experience in technical application.

· Familiar with the semiconductor application of Audio Amplifier; Linear DC/DC, BUCK, BOOST, Auto lighting LED driver, FxLED, MCU, G.hn, Ethernet, CAN/LIN devices, Sensor, and Power management.

· Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening).

· Good presentation skills.

· Willing to travel (25-30%), with possibility of some international travel

· Willing to be on international calls during non-standard working hours

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Office: This may be primarily a sedentary position, and this job is performed in an office environment. Physical requirements include the ability to operate a workstation computer and to work at a desk for moderate periods of time with the opportunity to move about to other locations within the building (and warehouse) and outside of the building to obtain information pertaining to the position.
