Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Factory Operations Head to manage the complete lifecycle of jewellery manufacturing—from raw gold intake to finished dispatch. This role demands a deep understanding of traditional and modern jewellery-making processes, precision in handling precious metals, and the ability to manage karigars, production units, and factory-level compliance. The ideal candidate will be both operationally hands-on and strategically driven, capable of running a high-value manufacturing setup seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the jewellery factory including production planning, metal melting, casting, stone setting, polishing, QC, and dispatch
  • Collaborate with merchandising, design, and sales teams to ensure design accuracy, timely delivery, and customization feasibility
  • Oversee gold and diamond inventory movement, implement loss-prevention controls, and ensure adherence to hallmarking and BIS standards
  • Supervise karigars, contractors, and in-house artisans—ensuring productivity, skill development, and workplace discipline
  • Maintain stringent controls across all jewellery processes (including CAD, CAM, rubber moulding, wax setting, CNC, and laser engraving)
  • Ensure security compliance for movement and storage of high-value goods; coordinate closely with security and audit teams
  • Drive continuous improvement through process mapping, lean workflow practices, and technology-led tracking systems
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance of factory infrastructure and jewellery machinery (vacuum casting machines, furnaces, rhodium tanks, etc.)
  • Develop performance KPIs for each production unit and generate MIS reports for management reviews
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations, hygiene, workplace safety, and precious metal regulations

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate/Diploma in Jewellery Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Production
  • Minimum 10-15 years in managing end-to-end factory operations in fine jewellery (gold, diamond, or platinum) manufacturing
  • Strong command over production processes like 22K/18K gold jewellery, fusion work, and diamond-studded finishes
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with karigars and shop floor dynamics
  • Familiarity with jewellery-specific ERPs, inventory software, and advanced Excel
  • High integrity and attention to detail, with proven track record in precious metal control, loss minimization, and timely order execution
