Job Description

Job Title – Executive - Stores

Years of Experience – 2 – 4 years

Reporting to : Manager – Supply chain Management

Department - Operations

Location – Guindy, Chennai



Position Overview

The Stores Executive will be responsible for managing all inbound and outbound store operations, ensuring accurate inventory management, timely dispatches, and smooth coordination with procurement, production, and logistics teams. This role demands high attention to detail, adherence to SOPs, and efficiency in handling a fast-moving D2C personal care brand’s operational needs.


Key Responsibilities


1. Inventory Management

·    Maintain accurate stock records for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

·    Conduct regular cycle counts and monthly stock audits to ensure data accuracy.

·    Update ERP / inventory software for all stock transactions in real-time.


2. Inbound Operations

·    Receive and verify goods against purchase orders and GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes).

·    Inspect materials for quality, quantity, and packaging compliance.

·    Ensure proper storage as per product category (e.g., temperature-sensitive items).

3. Outbound Operations

·    Coordinate order picking, packing, and dispatches for eCommerce, retail, and B2B orders.

·    Ensure timely dispatch in line with SLA commitments.

·    Prepare shipping documents, invoices, and labels.

4. Coordination & Compliance

·    Liaise with procurement for material availability and replenishment planning.

·    Work closely with production and NPD teams for timely material issuance.

·    Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and storage guidelines (especially for personal care products).


5. Documentation & Reporting

·    Maintain physical and digital documentation for stock movements.

·    Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

·    Highlight slow-moving, near-expiry, or damaged stock to management.


Qualifications & Skills

·    Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field.

·    2–4 years of experience in store/inventory management (preferably in FMCG, D2C, or personal care sector).

·    Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and MS Excel.

·    Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

·    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

·    Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, and batch tracking is essential.
