As an Enterprise Technology Engineer, you will collaborate with a global team focused on cloud optimization and enterprise software, working across engineering, finance, and operations to drive cloud efficiency and deliver secure, scalable platforms. You will engage with stakeholders at every level to ensure technology solutions are aligned with business objectives while fostering a culture that empowers innovation, resilience, and customer delight.

As an Enterprise Technology Engineer, you will be part of a high-performing team responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and cost-efficient enterprise technology solutions. You’ll work on cloud and software optimization initiatives, automation, and platform reliability, contributing to bp’s digital transformation and operational excellence.

What you will deliver

• Build and improve value from current applications and emerging technologies.
• Deliver tooling and analytics for cloud optimization to reduce cloud costs.
• Enable automation and self-service for various optimization activities.
• Provide technical direction to vendors to surface optimization exceptions and opportunities.
• Support cloud platform teams and business users in validating cloud spend and optimizing services.

What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)

Technical skills we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cost optimization tools.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture.
• Strong skill in APIs, connectors, and automation scripting for tool integrations

Essential skills

• Proficiency in cloud cost management (e.g., Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer).
• Experience in cloud spend validation and optimization strategies.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical insights effectively.
• Experience in handling data integration and ETL tasks, with strong skills in managing data workflows, ensuring data quality, and applying data governance.

Skills that set you apart

• Exposure to FinOps practices and cloud financial governance.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, FinOps).
• Experience working in agile environments and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in building chatbots, search systems, generative AI or machine learning.
