DEPUTY MANAGER

• Establishes and implements techniques, which involve cost-benefit analysis, work sampling, loss rate and similar methodologies, for periodic and systematic evaluation of the safety system and hazard control program effectiveness.

• Assists in developing methods to evaluate the costs and effectiveness of hazard controls and safety system programs

• Provides employee assistance and answers to safety questions

• Understands the health and safety needs from managers and staff
  

• Assists in the development of methods for anticipating and predicting hazards, unsafe acts and root causes of safety incidents from experience, historical data, incident investigations and other information sources

• Assists in technology implementations for developing methods to review entire systems, processes, and operations for failure modes, causes and effects of the entire system, process or operation and any subsystem or components

• Reviews, compiles, analyzes and interprets data from accident and loss event reports and other sources regarding injuries, property damage, or public impacts to :

• Identify causes, trends and relationships

• Ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of required information

• Evaluate the effectiveness of classification schemes and data collection methods

• Initiate investigations

• Conducts or assists in the development of and carries out research studies of existing or potential safety issues

• Provides for management review, the results of evaluation assessments, including recommended adjustments and changes to safety system policies or hazard control programs

• Assists in directing and developing audit programs which assess safety performance of the entire safety system and organizations, processes or operations which are components of the system

• Participates in planning, design, development and implementation of systems or programs involving hazard controls for the safety system to maximize its effectiveness
  

• Proposes new safety policies, procedures, codes and standards which can be used to integrate safety performance into the goals, operations and productivity of organizations

• Drafts a future safety plan and statement based on real time experiences and facts

• Number of safety training sessions conducted for project staff

• Timely response to employee queries

• Conducting periodic safety inspections as per plan

• Efficiency in conducting safety audits and pursue implementation of recommendations

• Onsite emergency preparedness planning

• Timely and effective recommendations on analyzed situation

• Graduate Engineering/ Diploma in related field

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Industrial Engineering or PGD in Safety Management

• Safety case regulations

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret relevant legislation on behalf of the company

• 3 – 4 years of experience safety engineer
