This position requires a strong technical and commercial understanding of BESS technologies, EPC project environments, and global bidding processes. The role is critical in converting business opportunities into successful project wins. SECTION III: DO – KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE Perspective Responsibility Job Responsibilities Proposal Management: Lead end-to-end preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals for BESS projects. Review tender documents (RFQs, RFPs, RFIs) and ensure compliance with all customer requirements. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance, legal) to gather inputs for proposal content. Technical Expertise: Ensure technical soundness of proposed solutions including sizing, layout, configuration, and integration of BESS. Provide oversight on design concepts, single-line diagrams, and compliance with relevant codes/standards. Commercial Strategy: Develop competitive pricing models and cost estimations including CAPEX and OPEX. Analyze competitor offerings and strategize value-added propositions. Team Leadership: Build and manage a cross-functional tendering team. Assign responsibilities, set deadlines, and ensure quality control for all deliverables. Customer Engagement: Participate in pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and negotiations with clients. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners. Risk Assessment & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with corporate and customer policies. Coordinate legal, tax, and financial reviews prior to submission. Job Description Lead technical evaluations for BESS projects, supporting the presales team with customized solutions that meet client requirements. Conduct detailed cost analysis and equipment selection to ensure optimal system performance within budget constraints. Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to identify cutting-edge battery technologies and balance of system (BoS) components. Prepare comprehensive proposals and presentations for clients, highlighting the technical benefits and financial advantages of proposed solutions. Oversaw the technical aspects of vendor selection, ensuring alignment with project specifications and cost objectives. Developed strong relationships with key vendors, securing favorable pricing and delivery terms for critical energy storage components. SECTION IV: DELIVER – KEY OUTPUTS / RESULTS FROM THE ROLE Key Performance Indicators (KPI) What are the measurable indicators for the role? Measurable Deliverables At least 5 years specific to BESS, energy storage, or hybrid power systems. Knowledge of global BESS standards (e.g., UL 9540, IEC 62933, IEEE 1547). Strong understanding of grid integration, inverters, EMS, and SCADA systems. Technical Skills MS Office & Project, Knowledge of SAP is preferred Experience levels required to execute this role E.g. 2-5 yrs of experience as an Electrical Engineering in Battery/Solar Grid Specific Experience 10 - 15 years in electric engineering in Battery/Automative. Over all Experience 10 - 15 years in electric engineering in Battery/Automative. Behavioral skills / competencies required for the role. E.g. Attention to detail Behavioral Skills Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
