Description
Deputy General Manager-Technical Accounting One of India’s largest industrial conglomerates, with diversified operations across steel, energy, cement, infrastructure etc. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Manager who will act as an in-house accounting expert , responsible for interpreting and advising on complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with Ind AS/US GAAP/ IFRS , and supporting financial reporting across business units. Key Responsibilities Provide technical accounting guidance to internal stakeholders across business units on complex or non-routine transactions. Conduct in-depth research on accounting topics and draft comprehensive technical memos to document accounting positions. Lead or support the implementation of new accounting standards across the group, ensuring consistency and minimal business disruption. Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements , focusing on accuracy, disclosures, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Collaborate with internal teams (business finance, legal, tax, treasury) to evaluate accounting implications of business decisions , contracts, or new initiatives. Identify and recommend improvements in financial reporting, internal accounting policies, and control processes. Work closely with external auditors during statutory audits to support the resolution of complex technical matters. Manage and track multiple accounting-related projects across group companies, ensuring timely execution and quality outcomes. Stay abreast of emerging developments in Ind AS, Companies Act , and regulatory changes from bodies such as MCA, ICAI, and SEBI. Mentor and develop junior team members , fostering a high standard of technical knowledge and professional judgment within the team. Apply independent and objective professional judgment in assessing technical issues and ensuring group-wide alignment. Qualifications & Experience Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8–10 years of experience, preferably including time in Big 4 technical advisory or corporate technical accounting roles. In-depth knowledge and experience with Ind AS/US GAAP/ IFRS , financial reporting requirements, and Indian regulatory frameworks. Experience handling complex accounting scenarios in a manufacturing, infrastructure, or diversified business environment. Familiarity with project management and cross-functional coordination in large organizations.
