Data Privacy Officer

📍 Location: India (eCommerce – onsite/in-office preferred)

📌 Reports to: Senior eCommerce Leadership & Dotted to DPO

As a leading eCommerce player, we’re dedicated to embedding robust privacy and data protection practices across our digital operations. Our mission is to safeguard customer data while driving innovative growth—and we’re seeking a Privacy Officer to own that mission within our domain. This position collaborates monthly with a privacy office team (DPO, Security, Legal, Risk) to resolve privacy matters and ensure compliance.

📋 What You’ll Do

• Privacy Process Ownership

  : Own and refine eCommerce-specific privacy workflows; align with org-wide standards; embed best practices.

• Register of Processing Activities

  : Keep the processing register current, audit for non-compliance, and drive corrective follow-ups.

• Incident Handling

  : Lead the response to privacy incidents—identify, assess, report, and resolve.

• DPIAs

  : Conduct or support Data Protection Impact Assessments for new and existing processing activities.

• Training & Awareness

  : Develop and deliver impactful privacy training; keep the eCommerce team informed of trends and regulations.

• Contract & Portfolio Oversight

  : Review vendor contracts (DPAs, etc.) and flag privacy risks during new initiative reviews.

🎯 What You’ll Bring

• 3-7 years in privacy management, compliance, IT risk, or related roles
• Experience with DPIAs, data breach response, and maintaining processing logs
• Certifications like CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT (IAPP) are a strong advantage
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion
• Understanding of eCommerce and digital business processes
