Job Description

Hiring of Credit and Risk Head Job title: Credit and Risk Head Place: Noida Educational Qualifications: A master’s degree in finance, with a statistics background or in related field is required. Professional certifications : CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), or PRM (Professional Risk Manager) can be a plus. Relevant Industry Experience : At least 5 years of experience in senior position in Retail credit and Risk management, ideally within the NBFC. Exposure to Risk Mitigation : Experience in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies across various lending products (Education loans, personal loans, business loans, etc.). Previous Leadership Roles : Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally having held a senior position such as Head of Credit and Risk or equivalent in a comparable organization. Preference to Statistical background : for developing, implementing, and managing risk models, analyzing data and making informed decisions about risk tolerance 2. Strong Understanding of Regulatory Environment Regulatory Knowledge : Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape governing NBFCs in India (e.g., RBI guidelines, SEBI regulations, etc.). Compliance Expertise : Experience in ensuring compliance with risk and credit regulations, including reporting, audits, and stress tests. Ability to manage audits and mitigate risks of regulatory non-compliance. 3. Credit and Risk Modeling Expertise Credit Scoring Models : Experience in the development, application, and optimization of credit scoring models for different types of borrowers. Risk Assessment : Proficiency in assessing and quantifying risk (credit, market, operational, liquidity), using tools like VAR (Value-at-Risk), credit risk models, and data analytics. Portfolio Management : Experience in portfolio risk management, managing the risk-reward trade-off, and driving the overall credit strategy to maintain a balanced portfolio. 4. Quantitative and Analytical Skills Advanced Analytical Abilities : Strong understanding of financial modeling, data analytics, and risk measurement techniques. Problem-Solving : Ability to identify emerging risks, analyze complex situations, and develop effective solutions based on data. 5. Leadership and Management Skills Team Leadership : Proven ability to manage and inspire teams across the risk, credit, and collections departments. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration. Stakeholder Management : Ability to interact with senior management, investors, auditors, and regulators. Experience in presenting risk reports to the board. Strategic Thinking : Ability to think strategically about credit and risk management, aligning with business goals while ensuring sound risk governance. 6. Strong Communication and Negotiation Skills Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex risk concepts and strategies in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Negotiation : Experience in negotiating with investors, partners, or regulators on matters related to credit risk. 7. Technological Proficiency Tech-Savvy : Familiarity with digital lending platforms, automated credit scoring, AI/ML-based credit risk tools, and other fintech innovations. Knowledge of credit risk management software and systems. Data Management : Proficient in managing large data sets and leveraging data to assess, predict, and manage risks. 8. Understanding of Financial Products Diverse Product Knowledge : Experience with a broad range of financial products, such as loans, securities, credit lines, and derivatives, to understand their unique risks and how to mitigate them. Product Development Experience : Ability to influence product design and pricing with risk considerations in mind. Entrepreneurial Mindset : The ability to work in a startup environment and handle the uncertainty and dynamism associated with new-age financial companies.
