Role Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead Agewell’s overall operations, drive business growth, and execute the organization’s long-term strategic goals. This role demands a seasoned healthcare leader capable of combining strategic vision with strong on-ground execution.

Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership


  • Collaborate with the MD & CEO to define and implement Agewell’s strategic roadmap. 
  • Lead geographic and service-line expansion initiatives. 
  • Drive multifold business growth and ensure sustainable profitability. 
  • Identify and build key partnerships and innovative service offerings. 


Operational Excellence


  • Strengthen and scale operational systems, SOPs, and service delivery frameworks. 
  • Oversee daily operations across Care Delivery, Training, Recruitment, Sales, and Customer Experience. 
  • Build a robust supply chain of care workers — sourcing, training, deployment, and performance tracking. 
  • Leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and transparency. 


People & Team Leadership


  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams. 
  • Develop leadership depth, clear accountability, and a culture of discipline and empathy. 
  • Reinforce Agewell’s purpose-driven values across all levels of the organization. 


Financial & Business Performance


  • Lead P&L management and ensure financial sustainability. 
  • Drive profitability through cost efficiency, improved margins, and process optimisation. 
  • Design and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance review systems. 


Compliance & Quality


  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, labour laws, and company policies. 
  • Continuously improve care quality and customer satisfaction metrics. 

 

Required Qualifications & Skills


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector

    , ideally in home healthcare, hospitals, eldercare, or other high-volume service environments. 
  • Proven experience in scaling operations, leading multi-location teams, or managing large service delivery units. 
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment. 
  • High levels of integrity, empathy, and alignment with Agewell’s mission. 
  • Must be from Kolkata or willing to relocate.
