Job Description

About the role: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving business growth across the company's diverse portfolio, including Natural Marble, Kalinga, Terrazzo, and Porcelain Surfaces. This individual will work closely with Architects, Interior Designers (also if required with Contractors) and Channel Partners to build long-lasting relationships and ensure market expansion. As a key player in expanding the product lines, the BDM will focus on creating new business opportunities, fostering partnerships, managing key accounts, and executing growth strategies. About the company: The company is one of the largest manufacturers, importers & exporters of Marble. They have a variety of over 900 marbles, sourced from over 45 countries & exported to over 66 countries. They have completed over 50,000 projects, both residential & commercial, including for their domestic & international clients. They use eco-friendly procedures to build their marbles & have over 150 dealers in India. The work life will be: ● Business Development & Market Expansion: ○ Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's product offerings within the specified regions (Natural Marble, Kalinga, Terrazzo, Porcelain Surfaces). ○ Build and execute strategic plans to drive growth and market presence across these product lines, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives. ○ Generate business through Architects, Interior Designers& if required with Contractors, Builders. Generate business through Channel Sales by presenting the products, securing specifications, and influencing product selection for projects. ● Client Relationship & Account Management: ○ Develop strong, long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and retention. ○ Oversee key account management to drive repeat business and client loyalty. ● Sales Strategy & Execution: ○ Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, and product) to develop sales strategies, promotional campaigns, and pricing models that support business objectives. ○ Manage the sales process, from lead generation to contract signing, ensuring timely follow-up and closing of deals. ○ Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to adjust business strategies and enhance market positioning. ● Team Management & Collaboration: ○ Lead and manage a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) to meet business development targets and sales goals. ○ Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure the team effectively represents the company's products and services. ○ Foster a collaborative environment within the team and across departments to achieve organizational goals. ● Sales Support & Client Retention: ○ Oversee Pre-installation guidance & post-installation services, ensuring client satisfaction and addressing any complaints or issues promptly. ○ Monitor customer feedback and initiate corrective actions to improve customer retention and product satisfaction. ○ Strengthen client relationships through consistent follow-ups and tailored support to ensure long-term business success. ● Revenue & Financial Management: ○ Develop and manage budgets for business development activities, ensuring cost-effective strategies and maximized revenue generation. ○ Work towards achieving sales targets, fostering the growth of company product lines and ensuring profitable outcomes. ● Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis: ○ Stay updated on market trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies to continuously refine and improve business development tactics. ○ Use data insights and feedback to anticipate market shifts and adjust strategies proactively. The applicant must have: ● Educational Background: ○ Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. ● Experience: ○ 10+ years of experience (Or relevant work experience) in business development, sales, or account management within the building materials industry (marble, granite, tiles, ceramics, sanitary ware, etc.). ○ Proven success in driving sales growth, managing key accounts, and developing new business opportunities within the building materials sector. ○ Experience managing and mentoring a team of BDEs or sales professionals. ● Skills & Competencies: ○ Strong business acumen with expertise in market analysis, strategy development, and sales execution. ○ In-depth understanding of the building materials industry, including Natural Marble, Kalinga, Terrazzo, and Porcelain Surfaces. ○ Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with an ability to influence key decision-makers. ○ Strong leadership and team management capabilities. ○ Strategic thinker with the ability to drive business expansion and client engagement.
