Business Development Manager – Digital Marketing & Content Agency

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly driven and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives for our digital marketing and content creation agency. The role requires someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of digital business, understands client needs, and can confidently convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in lead generation, client handling, consultative selling, and revenue growth within the creative and digital marketing space. You will be responsible for identifying prospects, nurturing relationships, closing deals, and ensuring customer satisfaction, while also achieving self-driven targets and contributing to the company’s overall growth strategy.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales

  • Identify, research, and approach new prospects in industries such as e-commerce, startups, corporates, and SMEs needing digital marketing and content solutions.
  • Generate quality leads through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, email campaigns, referrals, and digital networking.
  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline for consistent monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Develop customized proposals and presentations tailored to client needs (SEO, Social Media Marketing, Paid Ads, Branding, Content Marketing, Video Production, etc.).
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service terms confidently to close deals.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly revenue and lead generation KPIs.

Client Handling & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring strong professional relationships.
  • Conduct discovery meetings with potential clients to deeply understand their business goals and challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (creative, content, SEO, paid ads, and design) to deliver seamless project execution.
  • Ensure client retention through excellent communication, timely updates, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Upsell and cross-sell additional services to maximize account value.

Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and industry shifts to position the agency effectively.
  • Identify growth opportunities in new service verticals (AI marketing, influencer marketing, video content, branding).
  • Contribute to the annual business growth plan by setting personal targets aligned with company objectives.
  • Participate in strategic decisions regarding service packages, pricing models, and promotional strategies.

Internal Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with the marketing team to align business development efforts with lead generation campaigns.
  • Share market insights with content and creative teams to improve service positioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, proposals, contracts, and pipeline data in CRM tools.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports for senior management with actionable insights.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a related field (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience: 3+ years in business development, sales, or account management (preferably in a digital marketing / creative / advertising agency).
  • Core Competencies:
  • Proven ability to generate and convert leads into paying clients.
  • Strong client handling and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work towards self-driven sales targets and consistently achieve/exceed them.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing services (SEO, SEM, PPC, Social Media, Content Creation, Video Production, Branding).
  • Confidence to pitch, close, and retain clients at SME and enterprise levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and recommend improvements.
  • Proactive, ambitious, and adaptable in a fast-paced agency environment.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):

  • Monthly lead generation target (qualified leads).
  • Conversion rate from prospect to client.
  • Revenue generated from new business deals.
  • Client retention rate & repeat business value.
  • Achievement of quarterly growth milestones.

Job Type & Schedule

  • Full-time / Permanent
  • Working Days: Monday to Saturday
  • Weekend: Sunday Off (occasional availability may be required based on client meetings or deadlines)
  • Shift: Day Shift (India time)
  • Flexibility for client calls and campaigns outside standard hours.
