Job Description

The Manager of Marketing and Sales will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing the commercial strategy for the company's transformer product portfolio (e.g., Power, Distribution, Dry-Type, or Specialty Transformers). This hybrid role requires deep technical understanding, B2B sales expertise, and strategic marketing capabilities to drive revenue growth, expand market share, manage the sales lifecycle from lead generation to post-sales support, and establish the company as a thought leader in the power industry.

Key Responsibilities

A. Sales and Business Development (60%)

  • Sales Target Achievement: Develop annual sales forecasts, create strategic sales plans, and execute tactical measures to meet or exceed order booking and revenue targets across defined regions/segments (Utilities, EPCs, Industrials, OEMs, Renewable Energy).
  • Lead & Opportunity Management:
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities and strategic projects.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including pre-qualification, bid/no-bid decisions, technical clarification, commercial negotiation, and contract finalization.
  • Actively manage and update the CRM pipeline (e.g., Salesforce) for accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Tender and Proposal Management: Lead the preparation and submission of competitive proposals and bid responses (RFQs/Tenders), ensuring technical compliance, cost optimization, and on-time delivery.
  • Market Penetration: Identify and develop new geographic markets, segments, or product applications for transformers.

B. Marketing and Strategy (40%)

  • Market Intelligence & Analysis:
  • Conduct continuous market research to identify trends, regulatory changes , competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Relay market feedback to the R&D and Product Development teams to influence the product roadmap and ensure competitiveness.
  • Product Positioning & Messaging:
  • Develop compelling and technically accurate marketing collateral (presentations, brochures, case studies, white papers) that articulate the company's value proposition and product differentiators (e.g., low-loss design, reliability, testing capabilities).
  • Work with the technical team to translate complex technical specifications into customer-centric benefits.
  • Brand & Digital Marketing:
  • Plan and execute digital marketing initiatives (SEO, LinkedIn campaigns, email marketing) for B2B lead generation and brand visibility.
  • Represent the company at key industry events, trade shows, conferences, and technical seminars.
  • Sales Enablement: Conduct product training for the sales team, channel partners, and customers on new product launches, technical features, and competitive selling points.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred. A degree in Business/Marketing with proven experience in the Power sector will also be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum [5-10] years of progressive experience in technical Sales, Business Development, or Marketing within the Power Equipment/Electrical industry, with a significant focus on Transformers (Power, Distribution, or Specialty).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of transformer types, operational principles, key components, and relevant standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Technical & Commercial Acumen: Ability to understand complex technical specifications and translate them into a commercial value proposition.
  • Negotiation & Closing Skills: Proven ability to negotiate large B2B contracts and consistently close deals.
  • Strategic Planning: Excellent strategic thinking, planning, and execution skills to develop and drive long-term growth plans.
  • Communication & Presentation: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills for engaging with senior-level customers, technical consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills to potentially lead a team and excellent cross-functional collaboration to work effectively with R&D, Production, and Finance.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently (estimated [30-50]% of the time) within the assigned territory and for industry events.
