Description

Key Purpose

• To achieve targeted levels of availability (for level-based items) and reliability (for time-based items) across the complete supply chain through:
• Effective planning and buffer management
• Real-time monitoring and control of material and production flow
• Continuous improvement and system alignment across all operational functions
  

Core Planning & Flow Management

• Drive improvement in flow and lead time across the supply chain by embedding TOC principles into daily operations.
• Translate organizational goals into actionable plans to guide operations, ensuring production aligns with real demand and avoiding overproduction.
• Serve as the custodian of plant capacity and lead time information, buffer sizing, and dynamic buffer management.
• Establish and implement a focused process to balance flow and eliminate local Coordination:
• Ensure seamless alignment between Sales & Marketing, Design & Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Testing, and Dispatch functions.
• Manage end-to-end flow from order booking to customer delivery, ensuring high reliability, minimal delays, and optimal resource utilization.
• Act as a key liaison between Central Planning and Sales & Marketing teams to ensure effective Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).
  

Execution, Monitoring & Risk Management

• Oversee load control and protective capacity at constraint workstations to balance inventory and delivery performance.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks such as supply disruptions, process inefficiencies, and resource constraints.
• Establish activity-based control mechanisms with clear triggers, checkpoints, and escalation procedures.
• Lead the monitoring of schedule adherence, cost performance, and overall execution efficiency using real-time tracking systems.
  

Continuous Improvement (POOGI)

• Champion the Process of Ongoing Improvement (POOGI) across the supply chain to enhance throughput, reduce lead time, and elevate customer satisfaction.
• Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making and proactive issue identification.
• Participate in central planning forums to ensure service excellence and alignment of capacity with market demand.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, capacity planning, and supply chain flow principles.
• Proven expertise in Theory of Constraints (TOC), buffer management, and S&OP implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in ERP / Planning Systems and data analytics tools.
• Strong leadership qualities with a focus on execution excellence and continuous improvement.
