Your Team
The Corporate Tax Team at Invesco is divided into Direct Tax and Indirect Tax compliance. The Direct Tax team handles various activities including preparing and filing of EMEA corporate tax returns, tax accounting and reconciliations, conducting value-added analysis, and optimizing processes. This team works closely with the business, global tax teams, and external service providers to ensure efficient and accurate tax activities.
Your Role
As a Tax Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in managing the EMEA tax function, ensuring compliance, supporting audits, and driving strategic tax initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external advisors to maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory adherence.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
Prepare, review, and file accurate and timely corporate tax returns and direct tax reports across EMEA jurisdictions.
Assist in the preparation and review of tax-related financial data and footnotes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 740).
Audit & Risk Management
Lead support for internal and external tax audits by providing documentation, addressing queries, and ensuring audit readiness.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and risk mitigation within the tax function.
Tax Planning & Advisory
Research & Analysis
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations across key EMEA countries (e.g., Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain).
Conduct research and provide insights on tax implications for business operations and transactions.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build effective relationships with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and tax authorities to ensure smooth tax operations.
Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead onboarding, training, and upskilling of junior team members and new graduates.
Develop training materials and deliver knowledge-sharing sessions.
Actively bridge the knowledge gap between the Direct Tax Manager and the team through effective knowledge transfer.
The Experience You Bring
Experience: Minimum 4 years in a tax role, preferably within a GBS environment focused on EMEA tax compliance.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of EMEA tax regulations and international tax accounting principles.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TRCS, ONESOURCE Corp Tax), data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI), and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
Academic requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are highly desirable.
