This position in India is primarily responsible for assisting the managers in India GST compliances, oversee the preparation, filing, and maintenance of GST returns, as well as ensuring timely payments of GST liabilities. Additionally, stay updated on changes in GST laws and regulations, provide guidance to internal teams on GST matters, and assist in GST audits and assessments. Support in implementation of E-invoicing for VAT and or GST in EU and Middle East region.
What you’ll be doingWhat will your essential responsibilities include?
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and submission of GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9, among others.
- Review GST reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor GST payment schedules and ensure timely remittance of GST liabilities to the government.
- Assist in responding to GST notices, inquiries, and audits from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Country Finance, Reporting, and Legal to ensure GST compliance in business operations and transactions.
- Stay abreast of changes in GST laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in India.
- Conduct periodic GST compliance reviews and audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement internal controls and processes to enhance GST compliance and mitigate risks.
- Liaise with external tax advisors, consultants, and government authorities on GST-related matters as necessary.
- Preparation of Indirect tax returns for XL entities- Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) returns, Value Added Tax (VAT) and GST returns, other para-fiscal tax returns, Tax audits.
- Preparing reconciliations for the tax accounts.
- Misc other projects/assignments as needed including tax research (to the extent of ability).
- Support the team in ad-hoc project requests.
