Assistant Manager-Procurement

Role & responsibilities Lead the end-to-end procurement process for fresh fruits, ensuring timely availability as per demand forecasts. Act as the maker for purchase indents and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) within the ERP system. Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with company goals, seasonal variations and quality requirements. Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers, traders, farmers and societies to expand sourcing base. Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with fruit suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and pricing. Monitor vendor performance based on quality, delivery timelines, compliance and cost-effectiveness. Conduct regular market and supplier reviews to stay informed of changes in the supply landscape. Ensure all procured fruits meet defined quality, safety and traceability standards. Work closely with demand planning, logistic and inventory teams to ensure seamless supply flow. Contribute to ERP/SCM initiatives and cross-functional projects as part of the broader team. Monitor weather forecasts and analyse their potential impact on harvest schedules and fruit availability. Share timely insights and recommendations with internal stakeholders to guide procurement planning and mitigate risks Preferred candidate profile Graduate with a degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field. 5-8 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in fresh produce or Agri-commodities. Experience in working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or similar). Strong knowledge of agriculture produce, supply chain, procurement and related logistics processes. Understanding of agricultural practices and market dynamics. Experience with forecasting tools and data analysis. Excellent communication and coordination skills.
