Job Description

The Assistant Manager HR will be responsible for managing and streamlining end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, statutory compliance, induction, HRMS management, and HR audits. The role ensures smooth HR functioning aligned with organizational policies, compliance frameworks, and employee engagement initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment cycle sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements.
  • Conduct induction & orientation programs for new joiners.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding experience including documentation, HRMS creation, and employee kit issuance.

Payroll Management:

  • Supervise monthly payroll processing in coordination with finance.
  • Validate attendance, leave records, overtime, and other payroll inputs.
  • Handle full & final settlements of exited employees.
  • Address employee payroll-related queries promptly.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure timely compliance with labor laws, PF, ESI, Gratuity, PT, LWF, and other statutory requirements.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of statutory changes and implement accordingly.
  • Coordinate with auditors and government authorities during inspections.

HR Operations & HRMS:

  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRMS.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of HR operations letters, transfers, confirmations, promotions, etc.
  • Drive automation & efficiency improvements in HR processes.
  • Manage employee database and generate MIS reports.

HR Audits & Policy Implementation:

  • Coordinate HR audits by coordinating with cross functional teams.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating HR policies and SOPs.
  • Support ISO/other certification audits from an HR perspective.

Employee Engagement & Support:

  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries and grievance redressal. Support HR initiatives such as engagement activities, training coordination, and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and employee satisfaction.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in the industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HRMS platforms and MS Excel.
  • Familiar with statutory compliance and HR audit processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and timeliness.
