Role Overview The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing sales activities in their designated territory to achieve revenue and growth targets. This role involves developing sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, and building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to drive business success. Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in the assigned area. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies accordingly. Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor sales representatives to build a high-performing sales team. Set individual sales targets and track team performance through regular reviews. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners. Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Market Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to expand market share. Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and emerging trends. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, performance metrics, and insights. Analyse sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with the marketing and product teams to align sales initiatives with broader business goals. Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products. Skills and Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial role. Prior experience in [industry, e.g., FMCG, manufacturing, B2B sales] is an advantage. Key Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales forecasting and reporting tools. Results-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
