Role Summary The Area Credit Manager (ACM) will be responsible for leading and overseeing the credit function across multiple branches in a high-value urban market. The incumbent will drive portfolio quality, ensure credit compliance, support business growth, and mentor a team of mid- to senior-level credit professionals. The role demands strong judgment, analytical skill, leadership, and an ability to balance risk with business objectives in a dynamic and competitive lending environment. Key Responsibility Areas Credit Evaluation & Decision-Making - Appraise and approve home loan proposals within delegated authority limits across the assigned area. Evaluate complex and high-ticket size proposals with nuanced risk profiles and cross-functional dependencies. Maintain clear documentation and rationale for decisions, especially in exceptional or policy-deviant cases. Risk Management & Portfolio Oversight - Ensure adherence to internal credit policy, regulatory standards (RBI/NHB), and audit controls. Monitor and analyze branch-level portfolio health and delinquency trends; initiate corrective actions proactively. Team Leadership & Capability Building - Supervise and develop a team of Credit Managers (Manager/Senior Manager level) across multiple branches. Guide team members on income assessment, financial analysis, property due diligence, and policy interpretation. Stakeholder Management & Business Enablement - Work closely with Sales, Legal, Technical, and Operations teams to drive smooth customer experience and business execution Strategic Inputs & Market Understanding - Provide area-level insights to zonal/regional leadership on evolving borrower behavior, fraud patterns, and policy refinements. Qualifications & Experience • Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; Full-time MBA in Finance from a reputed institution may also be considered. • 5–8 years of relevant experience in mortgage/home loan credit assessment, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or area-level credit role. • Exposure to high-value or metro-market portfolios (Bengaluru) is strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Credit Acumen: Strong understanding of financial analysis, borrower behavior, and property risk. Leadership: Proven ability to guide teams and influence without direct authority. Analytical Judgment: Capability to take clear, data-driven decisions in complex cases. Collaboration: Cross-functional mindset to balance business and risk objectives. Integrity & Compliance: Unwavering commitment to fairness, ethics, and process adherence.
