Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Area Business Development Manager (ABDM) to oversee sales operations within Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in FMCG or consumer goods sales with a focus on General Trade, distribution management, and retail expansion.

In this role, the ABDM will be responsible for driving secondary sales, managing distributor relationships, ensuring market execution, and developing strong business relationships within the assigned area.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Achieve sales and distribution targets for Bangalore.
  • Implement sales strategies and promotional plans aligned with regional objectives.
  • Monitor daily sales performance and identify growth opportunities at the outlet and distributor level.

Distribution Management

  • Manage distributors and their sales teams to ensure effective coverage, product availability, and timely billing.
  • Track inventory, credit limits, and stock movement to maintain healthy trade operations.
  • Support in appointing new distributors and optimizing existing routes.

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new retail and wholesale opportunities within the territory.
  • Build strong trade relationships to enhance brand presence and visibility.
  • Ensure execution of schemes and marketing activities at retail points.

Team Coordination & Market Execution

  • Guide and support Sales Representatives / ISRs to achieve their individual targets.
  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor retail execution and competitor activities.
  • Ensure effective visibility and merchandising in key outlets.

Reporting & Market Insights

  • Maintain and share reports on sales, stock, and competitor movements.
  • Provide actionable insights to the Sales Manager for strategic decision-making.
  • Track key KPIs and ensure alignment with overall territory goals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream (MBA preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in FMCG sales within the General Trade channel.
  • Proven expertise in territory management, distribution handling, and retail development.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, CRM, and sales reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the Bangalore territory.
