Accountant - Senior

The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage key accounting functions including month-end close, general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. The role will ensure accuracy of financial data, compliance with accounting standards (e.g., Ind AS / IFRS / relevant local standards), and facilitate financial decision-making by senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, prepare and review financial statements and management reports. Recruiting Resources+2aacte.org+2
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank statements, intercompany transactions and ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records. fwb.org+2Monster.com+2
• Analyse financial data, identify trends, variances, and provide insights and recommendations to management. Recruiting Resources+1
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards (e.g., local GAAP/Ind AS, statutory filings, tax, audit). Monster.com+1
• Support internal and external audits: prepare schedules, liaise with auditors, implement audit recommendations. aacte.org+1
• Collaborate with other departments (operations, sales, procurement) to ensure accounting implications of business transactions are captured appropriately.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Master’s or professional qualification (e.g., CA/CPA/CMA) preferred. Monster.com+1
• Typically 4-8 years (or more) of progressive accounting experience (depending on organisation size), with a strong foundation in general ledger, financial reporting and reconciliations. Indeed+1
• Good knowledge of accounting standards (local & international as applicable), financial statements, accounting systems, and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs etc.). Recruiting Resources+1

• Good communication (written and verbal) and ability to work with cross-functional teams and present financial information effectively.
• Experience with audit processes, system implementation or improvement projects is a plus.
