Description – Accountant (Logistics Industry)Location: Pune, Maharashtra Department: Finance & Accounts Employment Type: Full-Time About Us We are a fast-growing logistics and supply chain solutions company with a strong presence across India, providing transportation, warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and project logistics services. With a robust fleet and pan-India operations, we are looking for a competent Accountant to join our Pune office and strengthen our finance function. Position Overview :The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, vendor/client reconciliations, taxation compliance, and financial reporting specific to logistics and transportation activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, understanding of logistics cost structures (fleet expenses, warehousing, transport charges), and the ability to generate timely MIS reports for management. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain day-to-day accounts including ledger posting, journal entries, and balance sheet schedules. Manage accounts payable and receivable: vendor invoice processing, client billing, and reconciliation. Handle logistics-related expenses: fleet fuel, toll, maintenance, warehousing rentals, freight charges. Prepare and file GST, TDS, and other statutory returns accurately and within deadlines. Perform bank reconciliation, vendor/client ledger reconciliation, and loan/EMI tracking. Support payroll processing and statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, professional tax). Prepare and present monthly MIS reports (profitability by client, route, warehouse, fleet costs). Assist in budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis for logistics operations. Coordinate with auditors for statutory, internal, and tax audits. Ensure compliance with all company financial policies and government regulations. Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Practical experience in GST, TDS, and taxation laws. Proficiency in Tally ERP / SAP / Zoho Books / Oracle (any accounting ERP). Advanced skills in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, MIS dashboards). Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management. Familiarity with logistics/transport/fleet accounting will be an added advantage. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) / M.Com / CA Inter preferred. 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry. Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software. Experience in vendor/client reconciliation and logistics cost management preferred. What We OfferCompetitive salary and performance-based incentives.
