Position Overview: We seek a dedicated and skilled Accountant to join our non-governmental organization (NGO). As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining financial records, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with the finance head and other departments to support the organization's mission and contribute to its success.
Remuneration range: 20,000 per month to 25,000 per month.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Assist in preparing budgets, financial reports, and statements, providing detailed analysis and recommendations to management as required.
- Grants and Donor Funding: Manage financial aspects related to grants and donor funding, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including calculating deductions, issuing paychecks, and maintaining employee payroll records. Administer employee benefits programs and handle related transactions.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and identify cost reduction or revenue enhancement areas.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage banking activities, and prepare periodic cash flow statements. Assist in developing strategies to optimize the organization's cash position.
- Documentation and Record Retention: Maintain proper documentation and filing systems to ensure the availability of accurate financial records and facilitate easy retrieval during audits or reviews.
- Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure sound financial management practices and enhance internal controls.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with the team and other departments to provide financial guidance, support, and expertise. Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members, if applicable.
Knowledge:
Accounting Expertise: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards. Experience with fund accounting and financial reporting for NGOs or nonprofits is preferred.
Financial Software: Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Tally, Prime/EPR, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for data entry, analysis, and reporting
Skills:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate financial information to finance and nonfinance stakeholders.

Qualification:
