Position Overview:
We are seeking a experienced Accountant to manage daily financial activities and ensure seamless financial operations within our organisation. This role is critical for maintaining financial accuracy, supporting financial planning, and facilitating the organisation’s financial health and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of accounting principles, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Financial Operations:
- Manage day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash receipts, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accuracy in daily financial postings, reconciliations, and closing activities.
- Oversee cash flow to ensure the organisation meets all financial commitments.
- Account Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial statements to ensure alignment with internal accounts.
- Prepare, review, and present daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to highlight financial performance and trends.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.
- Budget Tracking & Variance Analysis:
- Monitor and track budget allocations, spending patterns, and variances against forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and communicate findings to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on budget adherence.
- Compliance & Regulatory Support:
- Ensure adherence to local and statutory accounting principles and guidelines.
- Assist with audits and facilitate responses to auditors on transactional and general ledger inquiries.
- Maintain and update financial records to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Expense Management & Cost Optimisation:
- Review and validate expense claims and maintain accurate records for internal control.
- Support initiatives for cost reduction and improved expense management.
- Work closely with procurement and other departments to ensure efficient financial resource utilization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA/CPA Inter/Final qualification is preferred.
- Proven work experience (4+ years) in an accounting or finance role, ideally in managing day-to-day operations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with various departments.
