Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Windows L2 Support Engineer with 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting enterprise-level Windows infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess deep technical knowledge in Windows Server administration, VMware, SQL, patch management, IIS, Active Directory, and Group Policy. Expertise in Windows Server licensing models, backup and recovery tools, and a certification in Azure Cloud will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) in enterprise setups.
  • Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter); perform VM provisioning, monitoring, and Implement and manage patch management processes using remote management tools (e.g., SCCM, WSUS, PDQ Deploy).
  • Handle SQL Server support monitor services, schedule backups, perform basic query checks, and ensure availability.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot IIS (Internet Information Services) for hosting web applications and services.
  • Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, OU structures, user and group access controls.
  • Administer and track Windows Server licensing and ensure compliance with Microsoft licensing models.
  • Manage and operate backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Windows Server Backup, Acronis).
  • Assist with periodic DR drills and backup restorations to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness.
  • Provide 2nd-level technical support for escalated tickets, resolving issues within SLAs.
  • Maintain system performance and security updates, ensuring infrastructure availability.
  • Document solutions, update SOPs, and participate in audits or compliance checks as needed.
  • Collaborate with L3 teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders for infrastructure upgrades and issue resolution.
  • Support and maintain workloads in Azure cloud environments; certification (e.g., AZ-900 or AZ-104) preferred.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • 5 -7 years of experience in Windows Systems Administration and Support.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, GPO, and DNS/DHCP.
  • Proficient in VMware administration (vSphere, vCenter).
  • Hands-on experience in patching and remote management tools (e.g., SCCM, WSUS).
  • Familiarity with SQL Server support at infrastructure level.
  • In-depth understanding of IIS configuration and Good knowledge of Windows Server licensing, CALs, and virtual environment considerations.
  • Practical experience with backup solutions like Veeam, Commvault, or Windows Server Backup.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
  • Azure Cloud certification (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104) highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certifications : MCSA, MCSE (Windows Server, Azure).
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or SCOM.
  • Experience working in ITIL-based support environments.
