Windows Server Administrator

Role Overview: As a Windows Server Administrator, you will be responsible for installing new servers, maintaining system standards, performing system monitoring, and supporting daily backup operations. You will also be involved in security monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and applying OS patches and upgrades. Additionally, you will participate in on-call escalation rotations for 24x7x365 support. Key Responsibilities: - Install new servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. according to standards and project requirements. - Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. - Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks. - Perform daily system monitoring and verify hardware, server resources, and key processes. - Support daily backup operations and ensure successful backups to appropriate media. - Perform file archival and purge as necessary. - Provide escalation support and investigate issues as requested. - Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. - Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and configure new services as needed. - Participate in on-call escalation rotations for support. Qualification Required: - Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or IT engineering preferred. - Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT systems problem resolution. - Ability to interact professionally with users and vendors. - Familiarity with various Virtualisation platforms like HCI (NUTANIX, VMware & Hyper-V), Windows clustering, BCP DR solutions, SSL generation and management, Microsoft Windows Server versions, Web servers, server handshake, security parameters, DNS, Active Directory, LDAP, and basic Linux OS knowledge. - Solid understanding of systems development and deployment lifecycle and systems administration in a large-scale IT operations unit.
