Operations Executive – Engineering Vendor Management

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Vendor Coordination

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and related custom work
• Maintain a network of reliable

  MSME engineering vendors

  for both prototyping and short-run production needs
• Obtain and compare quotations, assess vendor capabilities, and manage negotiations on timelines and cost
• Act as the point of contact between internal engineering teams and external vendors, ensuring technical clarity and execution

Project Execution & Quality Oversight

• Track multiple vendor jobs and ensure on-time delivery aligned with engineering schedules
• Verify incoming parts for conformance with specifications and coordinate with engineers for quality checks
• Conduct vendor site visits when needed for assessment, supervision, or troubleshooting
• Maintain records of vendor performance, job timelines, and incident reports

Logistics & Material Flow

• Coordinate material movement between warehouse and vendor locations; issue and track job-specific components

• Collaborate with inventory and stores teams to log receipts, returns, and shortages

• Help manage rework, replacements, or urgent dispatches as needed

Documentation & Process Improvement

• Maintain updated vendor data including rate cards, job histories, and certifications if applicable

• Track performance metrics such as lead time, rework rate, and quality score

• Recommend improvements to vendor processes, sourcing strategies, or operations workflows

Required Skills & Experience

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related technical field

Experience

• 3–7 years in operations, vendor coordination, or engineering support roles

Skills

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, PCB assembly, wiring, integration)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
• Proficient with spreadsheets and documentation tools; familiarity with Trello, Zoho, or ERP systems is plus
• Comfortable with local travel for vendor engagement and quality follow-ups

Good to have

• Prior experience working with MSME vendors

  in fabrication or electronics is highly preferred

• Exposure to robotics, defense, or hardware product companies

  is a strong advantage
