Primary Title:
Unit Accountant (Hotel / Property Accounting)Industry: Full-service Hospitality & Hotel Management sector. This is an on-site, India-based role supporting day-to-day financial operations at a hotel property within a multi-property hospitality group. The Unit Accountant will ensure accurate unit-level accounting, compliance with local tax rules, and timely month-end financial close to deliver reliable P&L and operational insight.On-site LocationUdaipur - RajasthanRole & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end unit accounting: post daily transactions, maintain sub-ledgers, and produce an accurate trial balance for the property.
- Execute daily and monthly reconciliations (cash, bank, AR, AP, payroll accruals) and resolve variances with operational teams.
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities—prepare P&L, departmental reports, journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis against budgets.
- Ensure compliance with GST and local tax regulations; prepare supporting schedules for tax filings and co-ordinate with external tax advisors/auditors.
- Collaborate with Revenue / Front Office / F&B / HR for accurate revenue recognition, cost allocation, and intercompany billing.
- Implement and maintain internal controls, support internal & external audits, and contribute to process-improvement and automation initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of hands-on experience in hotel/property accounting or similar retail/operational environment.
- Proven expertise in month-end close, reconciliations, journal posting, and P&L preparation.
- Strong knowledge of GST and local tax compliance requirements in India.
- Proficient with property management/ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Opera, Tally, SAP or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and effective cross-functional communication.
- Preferred
- Part-qualified CA/ICWA or relevant professional accounting certification.
- Experience in multi-property hotel groups, exposure to audit processes, and familiarity with automation tools (Excel macros, Power Query, or BI basics).
