Level:
Consultant or equivalentAs an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting Services, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.
Work you’ll do:
As a member of the team, you will leverage your deep understanding of market abuse patterns—including insider trading, layering, spoofing, front-running, and manipulation—across multiple asset classes such as FX, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Rates. You’ll be responsible for designing and developing robust surveillance scenarios from the ground up and ensuring these are tailored to both regulatory and business needs. Your role will require creating clear Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), drafting policies and procedures, and collaborating with stakeholders across compliance, trading, IT, and audit functions to ensure holistic and actionable surveillance solutions. You will be tasked with tuning and calibrating surveillance parameters to optimize detection and reduce false positives, and you’ll provide subject matter expertise throughout the trade lifecycle—from transaction capture to reporting—while staying abreast of evolving regulatory expectations and best practices. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying process or governance gaps and contributing to the ongoing evolution of policies as market behaviors, products, and regulations change. Through these activities, you will play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of market operations and supporting clients in meeting both their compliance obligations and strategic objectives.

Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience is required. Relevant experience should be with a financial services consulting organization or a large bank or a broker-dealer or an investment management firm, or the Global Capability Centres (GCCs) of these financial services firms.
- Experience and understanding of understanding of market abuse typologies (such as insider trading, layering, spoofing, front-running) across diverse asset classes including FX, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Rates.
- Experience creating BRDs, surveillance policies, and corresponding procedures.
- Strong practical exposure to multiple asset classes: FX, Fixed Income, Commodities, Rates, and Equities.
- In-depth knowledge of market abuse regulations and surveillance technology (e.g. NICE Actimize, SMARTS, Trading Hub, Steeleye etc.).
- Track record of collaborating with compliance and IT teams to design monitoring frameworks.
- Familiarity with conducting tuning/calibration exercises to enhance alert quality and system performance.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate through complex business scenarios and recommend effective mitigation strategies & action plans.
- Flexible and dynamic in nature and able to turn around work quickly.
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) certification.
- Experience of working on Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Prior external or internal consulting experience.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing trade surveillance scenarios and controls.
- Experience of working on process transformation and solution design using GenAI/Agentic AI across surveillance functions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Management or similar fields.
- Master’s degree in finance, Business Analytics, IT, or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
