Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director an experienced senior professional to lead CTO Platform including Network operations, Cloud Operations and Centralized Frontline
In This Role, You Will
- Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
- Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
- Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
- Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
- Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
- Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
- Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
- Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
- Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Technology Operations Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise monitoring, observability and automation.
- Experience of driving large scale organizational change management initiatives
- Experience in Infrastructure and application production support
- ITIL and IT Service Management
- Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering Principles

- Provide global, follow-the-sun leadership, triage and resolution coverage for Mission Critical Infrastructure, Enterprise Tools including network operations, cloud operations and application support

- Drive Reliability Culture within the team
- Complex situation management capabilities
- Provide management direction and leadership of all technology major incidents, critical situations involving multiple technology teams
- Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in technology operations roles
- Regularly interact with technical first responder teams including IT Operations, Mainframe Operations, Wholesale Service Level Management, Cyber Fusion Center, and Digital Channels etc.
- Lead Service Operations support for public and private cloud, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS etc.
- Regularly interact with senior managers and leaders concerning business process impact during large incidents
- Engage and interact with line of business and technology leaders of Enterprise IT Process Technology Operations Management owners, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for technology operations process improvement and development
- Leverage metrics to support infrastructure associated with applications that are highly automated, and latency sensitive, client-facing, and internal applications consumed by the Business
- Drive key strategic initiatives associated with technology availability
- Work with IT risk management, compliance, and all lines of defense, including Audit, to ensure platform risks are proactively managed
- Institute controls in partnership with Operation Risks to ensure risk management is sustainable
- Manage the costs, demand, and resource capacity for the team resources, leveraging internal and external resources as needed
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of technology operations team to meet deliverables
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including experienced managers, senior leaders
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology operations
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
