Position Summary
As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of Oceaneering products. The technical writer is expected to understand the product and the existing documentation and update the relevant sections for subsequent releases. Such documentation may come in the form of user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation, configuration instructions and system operations.

Duties And Responsibilities
- The Technical writer will create, update and maintain technical and non-technical software related documentation for Oceaneering products. It is required to work closely with the internal product owners and business teams to discuss and understand the enterprise level products and capabilities and publishing the information into clear, concise and accurate content for end user consumption.
- Write documents that cater to both the external and internal audience.
- The internal facing documents provide detailed information about a capability and are meant for our internal associate(s) or team(s) who are interested to learn and understand our capabilities.
- To be successful at this role, the writer will need to have a strong technical aptitude and quickly adapt to learning the products and capabilities.
- Ability to grasp complex business and technical information and write and organize net new documents for new products or capabilities.
- Understand and analyze the content in the existing documents to help identify gaps, update and organize those documents to keep it up to date.
- Work with the various technical and business teams to accurately and effectively gather product information/requirements, researching independently is necessary.
- Ability to interact efficiently with product owners, business, technology subject matter experts and other internal teams to ensure that specialized topics are appropriately addressed and discussed.
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension and writes and edits technical information accordingly.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously in an ever-changing, fast paced environment.
- Regular follow-ups with stakeholders are a must to ensure timely review-feedbacks and other dependable tasks to help with timely closure of the document.
- Ability to respond to (and explain) feedback and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Create strong content that fulfills company standards and audience goals.
- Utilize a variety of media forms; include editing of images and screenshots.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Graduate in engineering/IT/Computer Science with minimum 1 years of experience working in the Technical writing field. Proven working experience in technical writing of product and/or software documentation.
- Strong working knowledge and skill in working with Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, and InDesign. Requirement gathering skills and experience is a must.
- Good knowledge of the Documentation Development Life Cycle (DDLC)
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar (fluent with the MSTP style guide). Ability to be self-directed and effective working independently and also to work as a team (Lead writer, peers and a global team environment)
- Attention to detail while managing several complex deliverables across multiple groups, cultures, and time zones.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Writing Style Guide a plus.
